Six videos, hosted by two energetic and bilingual young people, bring the
contemporary forest and forest industry to the students and discuss the
challenges and controversial questions regarding responsible forest management.
The videos were written by an award-winning local author and edited by the
three New Brunswick teachers and the company's forestry staff. The videos
were tested by focus groups of both middle school and high school students.
Video content includes the following:
- Our Forest - historical information, overview of series.
- Seed to Harvest to Seed- the tree life cycle.
- From Trees to Products - how trees are made into things we use
every day.
- Using the Forest Resource - managing today's forests.
- Dealing with the Issues - addressing student concerns regarding
forestry practices.
- Skills for the Future - translating today's classroom experiences
into tomorrow's workplace.
