Around a sawmill there are many requirements for operators of different types of mobile equipment like fork lifts, loaders and trucks. Mobile equipment operators need specific skills for different machines, so the training is largely on-site with an experienced operator as trainer. As well as making the machine perform its task such as loading logs, the operator is responsible for the safety of the machine, and for some of its basic maintenance.
