The main ingredient used in paper-making is wood. At the Irving Paper mill, 35 transport trucks arrive daily, loaded with 3620 cu. metres of wood chips from our sawmills in Sussex and Chipman, New Brunswick. We use a special mix of softwood: 75% spruce and 25% fir. We have an interesting way to remove the chips from the truck. We back the truck onto a large ramp which tips the whole truck in the air, emptying all the chips into a giant pile.
