Front-end loaders take the chips from the pile and drop them into a reclaim hopper. From the hopper the chips travel up a long conveyor belt into the plant. Once inside, the chips go through several steps to make sure there are no impurities in them. They pass under a large magnet which removes any old nails or other metal fragments from the chips.
